A bridal bouquet—your personal reminder of the beauty of your wedding day—may now be preserved by the delicate art of freeze-drying. The preserved flowers are then encased in beautiful shadowboxes, frames, or display cases. Flowers from other sentimental occasions may also be preserved in this way. Preserved flowers may be used to ornament custom baskets and wreaths.
Our business uses a state of the art freeze-dryer to process your flowers. The flowers are flash frozen, next we apply a vacuum which extracts the moisture from the flowers in a vapor state (sublimation). This enables the blooms to maintain their size and form. The entire monitored extraction process takes two weeks. We chemically pre-treat and post-treat flowers as necessary. A few varieties of flowers respond better to other preservation techniques and will be treated accordingly.
Some samples of my floral preservation work can be seen to the left. If you would like to see a larger version of the image, simply click on the picture.
